PFT is reporting that DE Charles Johnson will return to Carolina with a 6-year, $72 million dollar deal.  This was a very important deal for Carolina to make if they wanted to keep anything resembling a pass rush, especially after losing Julius Peppers last year.  Sadly for teams like Cleveland and Atlanta, this takes probably the best available 4-3 DE off the table in what was already a very thin DE free agent class.  With this type of deal and the lack of depth available, one can easily foresee a player like Ray Edwards receiving a very nice payday in the near future.
