I’m putting together a list of players I think will make the All Rookie team based on performance next season. Fantasy players take notes!
QB – Jake Locker, Tennessee
He’s got the best rushing attack to protect him and limit turnovers
RB – Roy Helu, Washington
Without anyone ahead of him and the fact that Shanahan has traded up to get him, means he’s got a good shot to carry the load. He’s a one cut back that fits Washington’s scheme. I’m sure they’ll add another backup.
FB – Owen Marecic, Cleveland
The white tandem of Hillis and Marecic ought to scare some teams
WR – A. J. Green, Cincinnati
He’ll be stepping in day 1 as the number 1 guy. Ought to do well
TE – Lance Kendricks, St. Louis
Young quarterbacks rely on tight ends and Bradford can deliver the ball consistently to Kendricks.
OL – Anthony Castonzo, Indianapolis
Not a lot of chance he doesn’t start for the Colts whose protection was poor last season. Might be LT
OL – Ben Ijalana, Indianapolis
Another Colts pick that will be in there day 1. He’ll likely be a guard.
OL – Mike Pouncey, Miami
It’s the safe pick for the Dolphins with a decimated board. He’ll step in at center and may not be as good as his brother, but should stand out early and often.
DE – Robert Quinn, St Louis
He’s got Chris Long protecting his other side and giving him 1 v 1. If they can put a presence in the middle, he’ll be a terror.
DT – Sione Fua, Carolina
His production will be high because there isn’t anything else. He’ll line up next to McClain but I think he’s more advanced than McClain and will be excited about not having to handle constant double teams that came from being nose tackle at Stanford
LB – Brooks Reed, Texans
I think the Texans will be utilizing Reed like Green Bay does Mathews, which should lead to a lot of sack numbers if he’s opposite Mario Williams
LB – Akeem Ayers, Tennessee
The perfect replacement for Keith Brooking. He’ll provide the pressure they’ve lacked from their defensive line.
LB – Mason Foster, Tampa Bay
Probably a weak side linebacker year one, he’s got great instincts and a nose for the ball.
CB – Patrick Peterson, Arizona
He’ll push for the 1st corner slot day one and probably will win it before training camp (if it happens) closes.
S – Rahim Moore, Denver
I like Moore sitting back behind Champ Bailey. Allows him freedom to pursue the ball and use his natural ball hawking skills.
